The World of Research: A Welcome

Let me be the first (obviously) to welcome you to my new blog website!

My name is Sean Farris. I am a 24 year old student of Physical Therapy at Campbell University, in southeastern North Carolina. Please visit the "About" tab on this website to learn more about me!

The focus of this blog site will be centered around a physical therapy related viewpoint on highly popular, yet controversial, exercise, fitness, pain-relief, and nutrition fads that are circulating around the internet these days. Firstly, we will look at how these fads started and where they gained their momentum. Then, we will look at what a multitude of research articles say about these topics, and whether or not the expert researchers can come to an agreement on a conclusion on the efficacy of these fads. Stay tuned for posts about things like yoga, Crossfit, dry-needling, chiropractors, and more!

It is key to note that the opinions and research that will be expressed in these blog posts will not be used as weapons against others who may believe fully in a controversial exercise or therapeutic topic. It is not my intent to tear down the beliefs of others. My only goal is to present the research, analyze the facts, and give my humble opinion.

Do not worry! I will not bore you just yet. We won't quite get into the basics, dirty details, and statistics surrounding research until a later date. I just wanted to give a simple welcome to you, and to let you know that a variety of topics will be discussed that will hopefully peak at least one of your interests.
